Lot #19/06 To the Mountains of the Moon: being an account of the modern aspect of Central Africa, and of some little known regions traversed by the Tanganyika Expedition, in 1899 and 1900 by J.E.S. Moore. The author led this expedition through Nyasaland, to Lake Tanganyika & thence to the high mountains of Tanganyika. He discusses the tribal people, Arab sultans, game animals & geological features (they were particularly interested in the instability of the mountains). Fascinating reading, with attractive folding plates & with a superb folding map of the journey, showing all geographical features. HOSKEN, p. 144. London, Hurst & Blackett, Ltd., 1901.
