Lewin Robinson. An outstanding collection of paintings of tribal people, South African landscapes, wild animals, birds & plants, painted by the first explorer to makes such a large collection in Namibia. The paintings are excellent & pretty accurate. Essays were contributed by leading experts in their fields of travel (Vernon S. Forbes), African music (P.R. Kirby), ornithology (J.M. Winterbottom), insects & reptiles(S.H. Skaife), among others. Copy no. 76 of the deluxe edition, specially bound & limited to 250 copies of the total English language edition of 2500 numbered copies. Cape Town, Library of Parliament, 1973. First edition.
